| THE HOME GROWN 4-H CLUB | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The first meeting of the Home Grown 4-H Club was in September of 1987. It began with five families that included the Beards, Robsons, Walters, and Wolds. The following year Kerri Davis became the organizational leader. In the summer of 1989 she and her family made a move to Texas and Judy Raymond took over leadership. She is still in that position today. Members of Home Grown participate in a variety of project areas such as archery, astronomy, canning, dog obedience and agility, horse advancement, horticulture, photography, public speaking, rabbitry, sewing, shotgun, veterinary science, and wildlife. They are also very active in community services. In 2002 and 2003 Home Grown has received awards from the state for their Community Pride service projects. Home Grown has also been awarded the Polk County Club-of-the-Year Award for the past five years. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The next monthly club meeting of the Home Grown 4-H Club will be Tuesday, September 14th at 2:00p.m. at the Bible Presbyterian Church on North Daughtery Road. Mrs. Raymond will be presenting a demonstration on Public Speaking. You won't want to miss it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
